ApE Agencija za prestrukturiranje energetike d.o.o. - Energy RestructuringAgency Ltd. was established in 1991 as a private company with the agreementand support of the Ministry for Energy of the Republic of Slovenia. ApE is anindependent agency; the assistance with the ministries is normally organized onthe base of open public tendering processes and contracts agreement.

 

ApE employs a staff of 5 high-qualified experts and using up to 10 part-time expertsdepending on project execution requirements. The expertise of the permanentstaff members ranges across the technical, environmental and economicdisciplines. ApE’s main services to the costumers are analysis, consulting,feasibility studies and implementation/ dissemination. ApE analyses energyproblems of technical, structural, financial, legal, environmental and behaviouralnature, presents recommendations for actions, offers information to decisionmakers, and addresses the appropriate public audience. ApE develops longtermstrategies for sustainable development mainly in the field of renewableenergy sources (RES).

 

In this respect ApE developed in the past a goodcollaboration with partners from EU and the CEE countries. ApE givesassistance to prototype experiences, evaluates its results and promotes thediffusion of information regarding new developments and tools.ApE gives technical and economical support to the process of market diffusionof energy efficient technologies and renewable energy sources. The companyorganises workshops, conferences and symposia and gives assistance to theinterested partners and investors for the participation in Slovenian and EUenergy programs. ApE offers support to relevant Slovenian ministries and broadnumber of municipalities and enterprises. We accumulated god experience oninternational co-operation, projects financing and management.

 

ApE's specialreferences are in management of the program for installation of 500 hot watersolar systems for households (PHARE), preparation and management of fourprojects on biomass district heating (CBC PHARE), feasibility study andfinancial support for removing barriers for biomass district heating (GEF),management of the demonstration project for installation of six individualbiomass boilers for central heating (INCO COPERNICUS), preparatory worksfor the first wind farm in Slovenia (ECOS OUVERTURE), installation of the firstgrid connected PV in Slovenia and a series of similar projects in the field of renewables.

 

On this projects ApE succeed to develop a very good internationalco-operation, transfer of know-how and implementation of modern high-techtechnologies.The mission of our activities is strongly connected to sustainable developmentand decrease of impact of energy use to the environment. The development ofRES and energy efficiency plays an important role for sustainable developmentalso in our country. For this purpose we performed in the past years a broadseries of promotional campaigns in the media, international workshops andpublications.

 

ApE prepared for the relevant ministries support schemes for RES.ApE has managed to execute some few governmental financing schemes forsubsidies to households for rational use of energy and RES.

International Tourist Institute at National Tourist Association was founded for the need of professional research work in the field of tourism. ITI develops research methods, implements programmes of tourism statistics, analyses economic and social problems and brings scientific, professional approach of treating problems in tourism into force. ITI develops education and training programmes in tourism, collects professional literature and statistic data and strengthens international scientific and professional co-operation in tourism.

 

The first researches, analyses and training programmes were implemented in 1998. Research and analyze results are published in Tourist News, a specialized bulletin of Slovene tourism and in the periodical miscellany Academia Turistica. Founders of ITI (21) are the most important and leading tourism enterprises in Slovenia. National Tourism Association (NTA) has the greatest share of ITI.

 

Through NTA’s membership ITI can reach more than 150 leading Slovene enterprises from the field of tourism, over 200 reputable individuals from economic, academic and public sphere and collective members - professional associations (e.g. Association of Tourist Agencies, Hotel Association, Casinos Association, Association Ropeways of Slovenia, Association of Tourist Farms, etc.) and colleges for tourism.

 

Basic research and working programme of ITI includes:

Scientific processing of micro- and macro-economic and social problems in tourism; research projects were done on the state level and for some tourist regions.

 

Professional processing and supervision of economic, business and political problems in tourism.

Enforcement of scientific and professional approach in tourism (e.g. Ljubljana Tourism Quality Selection, Bled Tourism Quality Selection)

Collecting and processing of scientific and professional literature, documentation and statistical data in tourism

Enforcement of international scientific and professional cooperation in tourism

Acceleration, organization and implementation of permanent training programmes for the needs of all employed in tourism – development of the Training Tourism Centre.

 

ITI’s programmes are supported by adequate professional literature and its own researches, based on actual solutions of urgent problems that emerge in a specific field. Collaboration with renowned international associations' brings ITI also incorporation in pretentious European projects.

 

The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology has enlisted ITI in the records of scientific research organizations under the no. 1635.
